Are You Equipped?

Today’s Scripture Verse

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6:16 (King James Version)

Have you given any thought to the spiritual warfare that is taking place around us each and every day. The fiery darts of the enemy are numerous. They are actively visible in our world today maybe more than ever before.

Depression, low self-esteem, fear, anger, loneliness, abandonment, pride, envy, jealousy, and even physical ailments, Covid-19, economic instability, financial hardships, confusion, and desperation are all tools for which the enemy uses against us.

What does God want us to know and understand about spiritual warfare? Lets look at Ephesians Chapter 6:12.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Spiritual Warfare! Give it some serious thought! It is taking place right where you are. In the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 6, Paul is telling us spiritual battles can occur at all levels. We must be ready for any type of attacks. God has given us the answer to what is needed to fight against the wiles of the enemy. “The Armor of God.”

Lately, I have been guilty of hitting the floor running. Since the onset of Covid-19, our family has been adjusting to our new normal. The grandkids are out of school which means my days are so very busy. There were days that my prayer time fell to the wayside, I was not thinking about the Armor of God. Well, not until I got tired of being tired. I felt like the fiery darts of the enemy had become a regular occurrence in my family’s life. My truth today, I am tired of the enemy’s attacks. My spiritual battlefield had become exhausting. Each day I was just trying to survive every hit that came my family’s way. Many times draining me of my strength and peace. My spiritual man was defeated, tired and simply weary. My prayers had become only moans. Family members would tell me that I had lost my faith in God. I was wounded, discouraged, disappointed and angry. I needed to be pulled off the battlefield, at least I thought. The fiery darts of the enemy were coming so fast that I had no time to heal from my wounds before we were hit again and again. Many days as I lay there wounded, I could hear God speak to my spirit to get up because I have equipped you with everything you need. Get up!! GOD never removed me from the battlefield, he didn’t remove the thorn from my side, but He begin to show me how to fight. I needed the whole Armor of God. His word help me to understand how I can withstand the fiery darts of the enemy.

The whole Armor of God consist of:

The Belt of truth, Breastplate of righteousness, Shoes with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit

I read the following statement from Bible Tools written by David C. Grabbe which says the following:

The fiery darts of the wicked one fly and find their marks on anyone whose armor is deficient.

Our armor should never be deficient. We need the whole armor of God just as the word of God declares to us in Ephesians Chapter 6. My question to you, is your armor deficient? Are you standing with your loins girt about with truth? Do you have on the breastplate of righteousness? Are your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace? Above all, are you taking the shield of faith which is needed to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked? Have you taken on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God? We need the whole armor of GOD. Is your armor deficient? Without the whole armor of God we cannot fight against the wiles of the enemy. If you have been feeling defeated, lacked in prayer time, feeling fearful, check your armor.
