Be a Nehemiah?

Pray Together

To our brothers and sisters in South Louisiana, you are not alone!  We are here for you! There are many people in Louisiana assisting the victims in this time of adversity in various ways.  Indeed God is using what the enemy meant for bad and turning it into a season of love and compassion for all.

Today I stand as an intercessor for those who were devastated by the rising waters.  It is amazing to me how the people of Louisiana have come together to assist each other.  Just maybe GOD is using our state to show what LOVE really means. We don’t always understand the reason for the troubles that may cross our path as we journey through this life, but the people of Louisiana are once again trusting in God with great faith.  God will rebuild what the enemy came to destroy!

There are people helping to serve food and providing water.  There are others assisting in the cleanup from dust to dawn.  I want you to know there are people also praying mightily for you and your families.

Nehemiah

As an intercessor,  I begin thinking about Nehemiah in the bible and how he heard of the devastation in Jerusalem.  Nehemiah asked about the Jews that were left of the captivity and he was told that they were in great affliction and reproach because the wall of Jerusalem their defense was broken down and the gates were burned with fire.  The bible says that upon hearing the news, Nehemiah sat down and wept, and mourned for several days.  He fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.  God gives us a time to mourn, but after that He is relying on us to “ARISE” and take action.  Taking action is what GOD is calling us to do.  Nehemiah begins in prayer and then he took action in rebuilding the walls. There was great work to be done.  There is great work to be done in South Louisiana and surrounding areas.  Fasting and praying for our brothers and sisters in  is exactly what God want us to do. Through prayer we will assist in the “Building of the Walls.”

So here I am!  Praying mightily for the people in South Louisiana.  We all know that the damage has been done, but our prayers are needed to  strengthen family members who are going through this time of great adversity.  I also believe that our prayers are also needed to protect the walls of the cities.  We all know, through our own storm devastation that there are so many people who see dollar signs after the storm and the devastation is behind us.  We don’t know who to trust.  Go to God in prayer and He will direct your path.  He tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto our own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Our prayers will build up the fence of protection. Nehemiah was returning back to Judah to rebuild the walls of the city.  We too will be rebuilding the walls so that no evil will come against the victims of this storm.  We know there will be wolves dressed in sheep clothing looking for an opportunity to rob, steal and destroy.

I pray that we don’t just sit and watch, but we watch and pray.  Today let us be like Nehemiah.  Let us  become “Builders of the Wall.”

Prayer for God’s Protection (Excerpts taken from “The Little Red Prayer Book”)

Heavenly Father, We come to You with complete trust in You and in Your word. According to Your word, You are our shield. In II Samuel 22:3, You are our shield and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold and our refuge. Psalms 3:3 says You are a shield about us, my glory and the lifter of our head. We have taken refuge in You. In Psalms 18:2, You are our God, our rock in whom  we take refuge; our shield and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold. Father, it is these promises in and Your word that encourage us to trust You for our protection. As you were with Job a hedge of protection, so You are with us. For we are one of Your own, bought with a price. We recognize that there are dangers and evil lurks all about us. Jesus spoke of the devil. He told the disciples to cast out demons as He had done. He also said in Luke 10:13 that we’ve been given authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt us. Praise You Father. You have said in Deuteronomy 1:30 that You will fight for us, and in Isaiah 26:3 that you will keep those in perfect peace who keep their mind on You, because they trust in You. Your peace that passes all understanding is ours because we rejoice in You always, therefore we are anxious for nothing. We think on the things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, of excellence and anything worthy of praise.  We will draw near with confidence to Your throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Father, w claim all of the above promises by faith. We know that You will only allow adversity in our lives to strengthen us in our walk and in our faith, therefore we will accept any test that comes from you Father, but we do not have to be defeated by the enemy. We are  raised up with Christ, above all power and authority on earth.  In Jesus’ name, I bind the power of Satan in my life and I cast away any evil that tries to come against all people of South Louisiana who has suffered loss.   In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

Psalm 141:2 – Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Prayerfully yours,
