What Is Your Truth?

“What is Your Truth” was birthed by a desire for the woman of God to walk in the Truth of God’s Word. Healing and restoration cannot take place until we speak the truth about our weaknesses and shortcomings. We are so good at blaming others for the things that are going wrong in our lives. The truth of the matter is we hold the key to our own freedom. Many of us have become slaves to our own sin. We don’t use God’s Word as our foundation. We often forget that Jesus came to give us an abundant life. An abundant life begins with TRUTH. The dictionary definition of truth is “the true or actual state of a matter”. The bible dictionary definition of truth is “conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be.”

How does one conform to truth? One must first know the truth. The bible declares in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus is Truth! Today He desires for you and I to walk in truth.

So here we are! What is your truth today?

Whatever your truth is, SPEAK IT, MEDIATE ON IT, PRAY ABOUT IT, RELEASE IT AND LET THE WORD OF GOD BEGIN TO HEAL IT!

Therefore, what is my truth today? I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, an aunt, and there are days when I awake empty and unfulfilled. There are days when my life seem meaningless. As a wife of 22 years of marriage I look and say to myself is this it. Where is the intimacy? Where is the romance? Does he still love me? Am I still beautiful to him.  So busy doing “life” we often forget about what is most important.  As a sister, I feel excluded because as the oldest of 10 siblings there are some things they don’t want to share and I find myself lonely, forgotten and excluded. As a daughter, I see my parents getting older and more fragile. My desire is to be there for them every waking day, but my physical body fall short of the expectation. As a mother, I find it hard to let go. I desire to fix every broken situation in my child’s life. As a friend, I simply don’t feel I spend enough time with my friends. Finally, as an aunt I find myself desiring to be involved in their lives, but there isn’t enough hours in the day. It is hard for me to come to terms that my unrealistic expectations are the cause of my emptiness and lack of fulfillment. I have simply lost my joy! Why have you lost your joy you might ask?  I was worried about being everything others needed me to be that I simply forgot about me. Like many women, there are for more important things to consider.  What does my husband need?  What is wrong with my sister?  Is my daughter going to be alright?  How can I make my parent’s life more comfortable?  This is the first time I have admitted these feelings to myself. I believed my admittance to this truth would make me feel like a failure, but actually it is liberating to finally speak the truth.  As women our biggest mistake is believing we can be all things to everyone in our life. Today is a new day and I’m determined to walk in the truth of God’s word. I’m fearfully and wonderfully made and there is a purpose for my life. I enjoy serving others, but in order to be successful, I need to care for myself. This means physically, emotionally and spiritually. Jesus did not come to give me an abundant life and yet I’m living in bondage. Many times we stop relaying on the only true source who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think according to the power that work within us.  Sin is bondage.  My sin is not depending on God for all things.   Today, it stops!  I desire to soar in the expectations I have for myself and  to fulfill God’s purpose in my life.

So there you are! This is my truth for today!

I pray that this blog will help you to come to your truth. I would like to hear from you. Tell me your truth.  Let us all become a part of making women whole again through the power of God’s Word.

Remember the formula:

SPEAK IT!  MEDITATE ON IT!  PRAY ABOUT IT!  RELEASE IT!  LET THE WORD OF GOD BEGIN TO HEAL IT!

I’m waiting to hear from you!! Let me stand in the gap for you. Prayer will breakdown the strongholds of the enemy.

Father God, I come to your Throne of Grace today standing in the gap for every woman who desire to walk in the truth of your word. Help us Father God to put off falsehood and speak the word or truth into our lives. There is freedom in truth. Help us to release our fear and shortcomings over to you. Speak direction into our lives that we will fulfill the purpose for which we were created. Remove those things that bring us death. Help us to walk in truth so we will be released from all fear. If we are in a broken marriage help us to release it in truth. If we failed in our relationships and did things outside of your word, help us to release it.  If we have failed as parents and have not been there for our children, help us to release it.  Whatever is holding us bondage Father God and stopping us from being all you created us to be, help us to release it over to you.  In Jesus name I pray!  Amen!

I leave you with Psalm 18:30 (AMP) As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.

    • Yes, God is truly amazing. Remember, the enemy want us to remain in bondage. Why is the truth so important to the enemy? The enemy knows the truth will set you free. Don’t let fear keep you from walking in truth. We know fear does not come from God. It is the enemy’s weapon against you. We as women don’t believe our happiness is important. We think we don’t have any other alternative, but we do. We have the truth. We have the Word of God! We have Jesus!
My Prayer for You: Father God, great is your faithfulness! I lift up my sister to your Throne of Grace. Father you know all things concerning her. Father give her the strength to face her fears. Give her strength to walk in your word. Remind her Father that you care about her happiness and well being. Help her Father, make her whole through the truth of your word. Faith is an action word. Help her Jesus to make the first step, to walk in your truth. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

  2. Wow Gail…. So well said and painfully honest…in a great way! In fact, that’s the journey I’ve been on over the last year. Being honest about me and how my actions and thoughts affect my relationships. One of the hardest things to do is to take a good look at yourself and resist the temptation to look away or deny the “not so pretty” parts. But I’ve found that there is where healing can begin. This kind of self introspection is not meant to make us feel bad or to think less about ourselves. Rather, if we approach it with God leading the way, we will be more at peace with ourselves, our loved one and others. It’s been a painful but purposeful journey, but I’m feel like a more “authentic” me is emerging. The journey continues for me, and I believe that your honesty will encourage others to begin their own….

    • Thank you so very much for your comments to my post. God is desiring for all women to be honest with ourselves and to humble ourselves before Him. To become all the creator has ordained for each of us to become cannot be accomplish without GOD! I pray for you my sister for God to help strengthen you and to increase your faith. Our God didn’t say it would be easy, but He did promise never to leave or forsake us. Father, thank you for the work you are doing in her life and in her heart. Help her Father not to become weary of well doing. Bless her and keep her close to your Throne of Grace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

    • Very powerful….yet kind of uncomfortable becasue sometimes we dont want to face ourselves. …my truth is that I look to others for happiness. …reassurance. ..that green light…needing validation of my feelings and it leaves me empty every time. I know that im more powerful than I appear to myself…but I cant grab a hold long enough to stand in it…I always run for help and I hate that about myself….its a battle that ive never been able to overcome….therefore like clockwork…..I succom to it. I know that my life is more than just a role in my family’s lives…and that I should rely on my own self happiness. ..wow…didnt know I would be talking about this today…but today can be a first of many days of standing in my truth..# Thanks Gail!

      • Hi Tina! Thank you for commenting. I takes strength to admit our truth. Admitting our truth to ourselves and God is the beginning of our healing. So many women of God are living in bondage when God Almighty came to give us an abundant life. You have no idea of the things God has prepared for you. Get ready to see the salvation of God. You cannot do the work alone and being honest about your truth is the beginning of the work of the Lord in your life. My prayer for you: Father God thank you for my sister’s honesty about her truth. Healing and deliverance is in your hand. Remove any fear that may try to interfere with her healing. Press into her spirit Father God your word to us, “Eye have not seen ear have not heard neither has it entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” In Jesus name I pray! Amen!
